Energy and Digestion Boosting Juice without a Juicer

My body has been going through it for the past year so I’ve been loving this juice to help with my fatigue & digestion issues. It’s yummy, cheaper than picking up from a juice bar, and simple to whip up at home with or without a juicer.

Equipment

  • Blender: Since we are not using a juicer we will have to first blend our fruits and veggies to make sure we get as much juice as we can. I use and will always highly recommend the Vitamix A3500.
  • Nut Milk or cheesecloth bag: I have found using a bag to be far more successful at thoroughly separating the pulp from the juice than a wire strainer.
  • Large Measuring Cup or Bowl: You will need this to catch the juice and using one with a pouring spout makes it easier to transfer into bottles.

Ingredients

  • Ginger, Turmeric: These ingredients may help with digestion and inflammation.
  • Oranges, Lemons: Full of vitamin C and great for fatigue and strengthening the immune system.
  • Carrots: Rich in beta-carotene which may help improve the health of your eyes, gut, and skin healthy.

Directions

  1. Peel all fruit and vegetables and chop them up into smaller pieces to make the blending process smoother.
  2. Add all ingredients to your blender container and blend until smooth.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a cheesecloth or nut milk that’s placed in a large bowl or measuring cup.
  4. Squeeze the juice out from the bag until you are left with only the pulp in the bag.
  5. Transfer juice into glass bottles or mason jars, making sure to fill to the very top to slow down oxidation.
  6. Store in the coldest part of your fridge and enjoy within 3-5 days.

Notes

Substitutions: This juice can be adjusted to your taste. Like oranges? Add more. Hate ginger? Just use a bit less! I sometimes add in an apple if I have some on hand and it’s delicious either way. If you watched the attached video you will see I had to use turmeric powder because my market was out of turmeric root & it still got the job done.
Bottles: Good quality, tight-closing bottles are key to keeping your juice fresh. Since our juice is not pasteurized you want to limit the amount of air left in the bottles to prolong its shelf life.
Freezing: You can freeze this juice in a freezer-safe container for up to 6 months. Just place it in the fridge to thaw overnight when you are ready to drink.
